Blue Dot Studio is the creative home of Thane Clare, an Alexandria native with a passion for music of all kinds, and a focus on taking YOUR art to the next level!
With a love of music channeled through more than three decades of guitar performance and recording, after a 25-year career in the U.S. Navy Thane created Blue Dot Studio to focus his own creative energy--and yours.
Observing a photograph of the Earth taken from millions of miles away, astronomer Carl Sagan famously wrote, "that's here. That's us...it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly and compassionately with one another and to preserve and cherish that pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known." In that spirit, Blue Dot Studio strives to put kindness and compassion first in the service of a fulfilling musical life.

Certified Expertise
Thane holds a certificate in Advanced Music Production and Technology from Boston's Berklee College of Music online program. In addition, he has studied at professional seminars with producer/engineers Shawn Dealey (Counting Crows, Propagandhi), Joe Carrell (30+ number-one singles), and Alan Parsons (Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project, the Beatles).
Thane is a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
Thane's number one musical mentor is the incredible guitarist, musician, engineer, and educator John Connolly.
